Reading is an experience!

When you open the cover and enter a book, a journey begins albeit one of fiction or one of truth. Yet, many times, no matter the genre, you discover a bit of both along the way! There are certain books that enter your heart and stay with you long after you close the cover. Oh, those are the best journeys; the kind that leaves you different than when you entered! It does not happen with every book and may even only happen once! Yet, that experience stirs an expectancy and hope for every new book you encounter. You open the book wondering: “Will this one spark a personal connection? Will it touch my heart? Will it speak to my soul?”

As you seek out to encounter more books: you find joy; you laugh; you cry; you thunder; you grow; you travel; and you meet new friends! Even while reading nonfiction books; you encounter many of the same. Although it appears different on the surface, our human emotions and background experiences become engaged by the writer’s words.

Words speak!

The written word impacts and influences in so many distinct ways. Our understanding filters through our personal lens in a layered effect. Initially, you read and understand the general summation of the story or text. Then after sitting with the words, the crafted content evokes a personal emotive response. This is when the words elevate reading from a mere task into an experience; that personal journey found within a book! Those wondrous, amusing, tragic or triumphant journeys are not so easily forgotten- therein lies the magic of books & stories!
